Our second project in Mill Reef, the narrative of the design concept was that upon the ridge of this former Mellon property existed a sugar mill. The ruins of this mill were retained and a new residence was created within the shell of two mill towers. The design is a harmony of antique details and modern elements such as steel casement windows, sliding glass walls and quarried limestone. Mature trees were saved for future landscape that Deborah Nevins will use to create several outdoor places including native grassy meadows, shady lawns and fountain rooms.
